What is LaunchBoost?
LaunchBoost is a complete, white-label patcher and launcher solution for game developers. We handle the heavy lifting of diffing files, managing versions, and delivering updates to your players so you can focus on building your game.
Do I need coding knowledge?
Absolutely not! LaunchBoost.io is a "No-Code" solution. For the Developer Edition, while you can use it without code, we provide C++, C# SDKs and a wide range of game templates for the likes of Unreal Engine and Unity, if you want to integrate deeply with your game engine.
Can I upgrade my license later?
Yes! You can upgrade from Pro to Developer edition at any time. The price will be pro-rated based on the time remaining on your current subscription, meaning you will get a discount based off what you have already paid.
What happens if I cancel?
If you cancel your subscription, your patcher will continue to work for your players until the end of the billing period. After that, the patch system will not work until you renew your subscription or purchase the lifetime edition.
How does the patching engine work?
We use a byte-level diff system. When you push an update, we only upload new or modified files. This means a 1GB update might only result in a 50MB download for your players.
Does it support Mac and Linux?
Currently, the Patcher Client is Windows only (7, 8, 10, 11). However, the server-side infrastructure is OS-agnostic, and we have a Mac/Linux client on our roadmap as high priority.
Can I host the files on my own server?
Yes. While we provide super-fast and highly optimized Patch Servers you can use, LaunchBoost does not limit you to using your own servers. The Developer Edition allows you to configure "Multiple Servers" to point to mirrors for your own S3 bucket, FTP server, or custom Nginx instance.
How do I update the Patch executable?
You do not need to! With our wizardy and magic, if we ever do push an update out for the patch client, it will update itself automatically on all your users computers!
What is the response time for support?
All users are entitled to email support. This can take up to 24-72 hours depending (weekend hours vary a lot). However, all users are also entitled to Discord support. Please note, staff may not always be available for general support so please be patient. If it is top priority, you should always use email support.
Is there a VIP / Priority Support channel?
Yes. We do have a VIP / Priority support package available for all of our users. You can access it here (Instant Access and Roles after Subscribing) - Get VIP Access.
